Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Account data: When you create an account, we collect your email address and password (hashed). If you sign in via OAuth, we receive your name and email from the provider.

Device data: When you activate a license, we record the device platform, app version, and a unique device identifier to enforce license limits. We do not collect screen content, keystrokes, or clipboard data.

Usage data: We collect aggregate connection metrics (session count, duration, latency) for analytics dashboards. These are tied to your organization, not individual sessions.

Payment data: Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers. Stripe provides us with subscription status, plan type, and billing email.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, maintain, and improve SpareDisplay services
• To manage your account, subscriptions, and license keys
• To provide customer support and respond to inquiries
• To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset)
• To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

3. Data Storage & Security

Data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security policies. All connections use TLS encryption. Authentication tokens are stored as HTTP-only cookies. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt.

4. Third-Party Services

• Supabase — database and authentication
• Stripe — payment processing
• Vercel — website hosting and analytics
• GitHub — release distribution

5. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at privacy@sparedisplay.com. You can delete your account at any time from the account settings page. Upon account deletion, we remove your personal data within 30 days.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (session tokens) and a theme preference cookie. We use Vercel Analytics for anonymous page view metrics. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the website. Continued use of SpareDisplay after changes constitutes acceptance.
